Hi, I just bought a PCI combo at a Mac sale from a commercial vendor, the card has two FireWire and USB connectors each on the outside plus one connector each on the inside (of the computer). It says Ali on the main chip, the brand is "For BEST Ports Connection" PCI Multimedia Combo Card. There is the MacOS-logo on the package too, but on the (mini-) CD-ROM there are no Mac-drivers. I put the card in my beige MT 300 Mhz running OS 9.2.2. Dutch version.
The System Profiler doesn't know it, apparently: card name is "multifunc-device", maker of the card is "-1". It sees four USB-buses, however, all are version 1.5.5, called USB 0, USB 1, USB 2, USB 0. It seems as if the Profiler sees both FireWire buses as USB buses ... What gives? Anyone here that knows or uses the card? Where on the net could I possibly find drivers for it? Apparently there is also another version of this thing that even encorporates an ATA/133 bus and sound! Nice if you only have 3 PCI-slots. Any help is highly appreciated.
