OS 9.2 will not help unless you plan to use OS X
While OS 9.2.2 does contain a few things that make it run better under the Classic emulator in OS X, it also contains a LOT of bug fixes and enhancements that greatly improve OS 9's performance, even on older "unsupported" machines.
