Hi All,

I have a few of annoying problems occurring on my B&W G3/300, OS 9.1, 448MB RAM.

First is a peculular hang during boot up which occurs after the icons on the desk top appear but before the control strip appears after which I can procede to what ever program I desire. The hang is 40 sesonds long during which the computer takes input such as mouse clicks but it dosn't act on them untill the 40 seconds is up and the control strip appears.
I have installed and run Conflict Catcher which shows no conflicts, I've done a clean install of 9.1 which interistingly enough did not have the hang untill after I did the merge with CC.
I would love to discover the culprit of that hang because my sister in law has the same problemon her Powerbook since her job upgraded the software.

The second problem is crashes and freezes and bombs in Eudora 5.1.
It frequently freezes or crashes while opening mail that has to load graphics or pictures.
I also cannot print while I am on line.

I tried down loading Eudora 6 but could never get it to retreve my email,I could send but not recieve. Also E6 would take over E5.1 and convert all the data within including address book none of which I have been able to recover. I finally had to trash the E6 program but it even ran while in the trash untill I emptied it.
This caused me to have to redo all E 5.1 settings and now I cannot get it to spell check. That section of the settings is greyed out.

Any one know of a MAC friendlier Email program? If I can find one I'll dump Eudora.

The third problem is crashes in Interner Explorer 5.
Thankfully they are much less frequent than in Eudora but still annoying.

I have read with interest the posts about bad RAM in the B&W. Since this machine has some used RAM in it is that a possibility for some of the quirks or "buggy" operation that I experience?
And if so how does one find out which is the bad one?

TIA for any tips etc.

Tom
