Apparently the remote access module in my control strip of 9.1 is seldom in
agreement with the actual remote access. I can click connect from the
strip, go online, see that I am online by opening remote access, yet the
control strip still says "connect" as if I am not already. I have to open
the remote access and disconnect from there. Afterward the module in
control strip often says "disconnect" as though I am online when I am not.
When that happens I cannot shut down the machine. After several tries when
I can get both to agree we are disconnected, then the machine shuts down
properly.

Modem is a GV internal for the B&W and seems to function wonderfully in all
other respects.

I trashed control strip prefs and rebooted to no avail. Any idea how this
could happen & a possible remedy? Thanks for your help.

First verify that the control strip mis-sync is the problem.

Remove "Remote Access Control Strip" from the Control Strip Modules folder then reboot.

If the problem continues, try pulling both Control Strip and Control Strip Extension then reboot.

If the problem continues, restore the above. Trash your Modem and Remote Access prefs, reboot, reset those two control panels, then try...
