Neil,

When in doubt always remove the router from the mix. Routers have fun and exciting ways of slowing and blocking certain connections.

I'm no DSL expert (I work for a cable high speed provider) but I thought most DSL services require authentication. I presume when you get this error that you can surf the web and retrieve email?

Make sure you can connect to the internet then try
again.

Now i'm connected via dsl, so its always on, its going
through a router and then into the mac through the
ethernet port. Why won't this work? can anybody help?
Also my itunes keeps telling me that the music library
cannot be read as it doesn't appear to be a valid
library file. It worked yesterday, whats happened!
love from neil

Thanks,

Glenn
