The ATA # referred to just means you're stuck to that bus speed. An
(EIDE, not serial!) ATA 100, 166, etc device will work, but will slow down
at the bus.

I've been using it in the same Mac as yours without a complaint for over
half a year. Hell, get two while you're at it :-), though they *will* only
show the first 138GB due to a technical reason I've currently forgotten.
this will yield appx 128GB of useful space.

NB: I've nothing to do with computergiants. It's simply the first site
found by Sherlock when I entered wd1600jb (the drive model).
