Can you select them in Software Update, then click on "Download Only" from the Update menu.
Have you run "Repair Permissions" lately?
Preferences are also a possible culprit. Can you login as another user and see if the same thing happens. If so then it is global. If not then it's a corrupt file in your users folder.

i've managed to do most of my updates from the apple website, but when i try either the itunes 4.5 update or the new quicktime update i can down load thembut then on my download screen it says waiting for data, and will not finish. any ideas? i've tried downloading from different browsers and sites but still the same. neil
