So what is "firmware?" Apparently it's not software or hardware, or wetware (as a former co-worker called one's brain), let alone silverware...
It's not even underware.
Basically it is the ROM code, specifically the part that is used to boot the computer up, initialize the hardware and start loading the Operating System.
