I have also seen them on ebay for 99� plus s&h. I have used these in the past and they work fine. Just remember that a laptop drive is significantly slower than a regular desktop HD.
Those are GREAT prices, but as a computer-savvy end user who gets called upon to fix many machines for beer (well OK I don't drink much so I'm _really_ cheap support), I LOVE to support the non-circuit-city, local stores who have the chutzpa and the know-how to stock seldom-selling but SUPER useful techie nicknacks like this.
If I have one such shop near, I try to use them as much as I can, so that when I need that oddball SCSI adapter or cable, or whatever, there's a chance that someone at the store will have )seen one ) bothered to stock it. Such shops are worth their weight in gold, and are getting harder to find in most markets.
