I'm transferring my daughter from a windoze machine to an upgraded 7600, and the oldest version of MSN I can get from Microsoft is 2.51. Unfortunately, it requires 9.2, which won't install on my kid's computer (says it needs a real G3). And of course, MSN was one of her most frequently used programs.
Is there an older version for download somewhere?

Unfortunately no, you need 2.5.1 to interface with the most recent version of the MSN chat protocol.

Have no fear! You need a package called OS 9 Helper from www.os9forever.com . This has all you need to install 9.2.2 on the machine then adds 'Old World' support modules to keep stuff working with older machines. Now I don't usually advocate using 9.2.x on a pre-Beige G3 machine because some parts of 9.2.x have been known to cause issues on them, but in this case it's the only way! I have MSN 2.5.1 running under 9.2.2 on my 3400c Powerbook and it seems to not mind a bit. Only pain in the ass is it requires downloading the separate 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 updates from Apple and it has to be specifically those files and not a CD or anything.
