Have no fear! You need a package called OS 9 Helper from www.os9forever.com . This has all you need to install 9.2.2 on the machine then adds 'Old World' support modules to keep stuff working with older machines. Now I don't usually advocate using 9.2.x on a pre-Beige G3 machine because some parts of 9.2.x have been known to cause issues on them, but in this case it's the only way! I have MSN 2.5.1 running under 9.2.2 on my 3400c Powerbook and it seems to not mind a bit. Only pain in the ass is it requires downloading the separate 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 updates from Apple and it has to be specifically those files and not a CD or anything.
Thanks for this tip. I am trying to use this OS 9 Helper, but am getting some error that the O'hare thingamabob can't be loaded. Any ideas what's causing this?
