Hello,
In this instance, I am using the terms interchangeably.
For instance, at the end of a session using Quicken, back up the data to a zip disk(disk #1). The next time you use Quicken, back up the data to a different zip disk(#2). The next time, back up to yet a different disk(#3). Now you will have three zip disks, with three different versions of you files. Only the last disk will have the most current data, of course. The next time you use Quicken, backup to disk # 1, and so on.

Of course, you could do this with one disk, saving the files with different names or in different directories. I would advise against this, because if a problem develops with the zip disk itself, you will be back in the same boat (one backup that doesn't work).

Thanks David,
Please explain the difference between "saving" and "backing up"?
I am using Iomega Zip 250 disks for backing up.

Hello,
Perhaps you should be saving different versions of your work, not just backing it up. For instance, save the last three versions of your files. if you find the latest version is corrupt, you can restore to the next previous version.

Hello,
Can someone explain a problem that occurs for me from time to time.
For example, I keep my finances on Quicken 2004 on my G3-mt using OS 10.2.8.
I use an Iomega disk to back this up. When I have a problem and the original Quicken information gets fouled up, I put in the disk to get back the right information. But, the information on the disk now also shows the fouled up information. If I manage to correct the information by some other means and I put in the disk to correct the information on the disk, I find the information on the disk is already corrected! What good is a backup disk if it doesn't hold the proper information but simply reflects whatever is on the computer?
Thanks

Wilton
