To be clear, you installed 10.1.5 on top of an existing 10.2.8 install?
If that's what happened, I think I'd try backing up my data and installing 10.2.8 as an upgrade. I wouldn't hold out much hope of this working, however. Be ready to reformat the boot drive and reinstall 10.2.8 and all apps.

System: B&W rev. 1, 768 MB RAM, 6 & 18 MB internal drives, CD/DVD drive, now on 10.1.5
Problem: can't boot critical apps, can't print from most apps, can't see external Firewire drive
How I got here: running OK on 10.2.8 for some time, but had problem trying to update my little LAN with LaserWriter, Asante router and cable modem--nothing else seemed to work (CUDA, zap PRAM) so reinstalled 10.1.5 (which I now know I shouldn't have!).
Status: on restarts, "Finder unexpectedly quits" yet some things seem to work, including IE 5.2 but I can't boot Netscape, nor Word for OSX (immediately Unexpectedly quits), nor Word 2001 in Classic (opens Classic, nothing happens). Tried to reinstall 10.2 but when Installer looks for drives on which to install, NONE show up--yet Disk Utility on the CD can see both internal drives and they Veritfy/Repair OK.
I'm in serious deadline trouble and don't know what else to try--ANY suggestions appreciated!
