Burning an HFS standard volume in OS X or OS 9

I need to burn a couple CDRs to be used on older Macs running System 6 
and 7. All the options I see for burning with 10.3.5 and in OS 9.2.2 
are to create an HFS+ format CD and I need to create an HFS format CD.

Any pointers on burning an HFS CD from either OS X or OS 9 would be 
appreciated.
