Success!!!!
I reinstalled Apple DVD Player 2.7 and applied the 2.7
patch,both available at
http://web.tiscali.it/thinkdifferent/english/tools.html,
removed the unneeded extensions installed by the
Patch, restarted and the Player now recognizes the
4480B.
Whoo Hoo!!! (gosh it doesn't take much to get me
excited)
