That's true. I remember the Solaris syntax now. I have a few Sun boxes but I like Irix better so I tend to use them more. My Origin 200 (Irix is SystemV based but some commands use more of a BSD structure) uses shutdown -y -p now to shutdown. Being headless with no graphics capability, with an Origin 200, you have to shutdown via console.

"init 5". I can not speak about IRIX.

Boy I knew being Solaris Certified would come in handy one day. ;-)



closer to the normal syntax of Unix like Solaris or Irix.
