I, too, have a single Mission Critical app. But I don't have the $1300 for a new G5, yet.
I think I can manage the money for either a : Sonnet Encore/ZIF G4/700MHz w/1024k 3:1 Backside Cache. or a PowerLogix PowerForce G3/1GHz (1000MHz) ZIF with 1024K 1:1(1000Mhz) L2 On-Chip Cache for the Power Mac G3 Beige
I am leaning for the G3 and staying with OS9 for now.
Then saving up for a G5 when the bugs are worked out and the price comes
down.
Any opinions?
then go for the 700, don't waste money on the 1000, and don't count on the iMac prices coming down much. They're pretyt much right where they've been for years.
