Hi all,
I looked up CUPS but can't figure out how it works. The Color StyleWriter Pro is a serial printer and as far as I know XPF doesn't (yet) fix the legacy serial bus for the beige in OSX. At least when I start in Verbose Mode I can see a line that states theat the serial bus is not working.
So I'll have to keep reverting to OS9 to print in color?
TIA for your comments.

This information about enabling Serial Port printing in OS X has been posted several times in the past, and probably belongs on the Unsupported OS X list rather than G-List. Here is the link again:

To avoid these repeats, by simply bookmarking the G-List & Unsupported OS X archives, you can use the search bar and have the answer in one click and several words rather than having to type the whole thing. These archives are invaluable and should be everyones FIRST choice when looking for answers rather than an afterthought.

I place them in a "Lists" folder within my Bookmarks Bar of Safari. The folder opens as a drop down menu of list archives to easily reference in one click. Very handy.

PS-I'm not 100% certain, but I think Serial Printing is perhaps supported now? All my 10.3.5 Systems show a Printer Port in the Network Preferences Pane and I distinctly remember that they weren't always there. They were "found" after one of the more recent updates when upon reboot there was a message, "OS X has found a new Printer Port, do you wish to add it now?" to which I replied "Add". I think you should also have one in Networks, but you have to enable it in Network Port Configurations by checking the box "On".
I'm sorry I haven't answered the CUPS question, but that's a whole subject in itself, best for another time.
