Bitch to Steve Jobs if you think Macs are too expensive or if they aren't configured to your liking. I would rather pay more for a Mac than to put up with all the virus related shit that rides on the coattails of Windoze.
This can be summed up easily.
In the long run the Mac is less expensive as you DON'T need to call tech support or have as much down time because windoze can't handle being shut down improperly (i.e. power fail), also failure of hardware due to cheapness of components.
Plus the hardware generally lasts longer.
Its like comparing a BMW to a Honda.
If windoze machines were made with a higher quality then they would last as long. But the windoze market demands cheapness. Thats why Windows itself is buggy Even after all the time they spend developing it, it won't support all the hardware out there (as experienced with my laptop (Dell) and my wifes PC).
And with regards to the PLC programming its not that it can't be done on a mac its that the software has been written on a PC as there are a lot of tech and programmers who stick to one platform. There is no demand for this to be done on a mac anyway but if you wanted to pay the money to get the program written it could be done.
