possibly. it may be a bit too stiff, but you'll have to try it. if it is too stiff cutting holes in it so there is less surface/less cork should help to a point. it's something you have to determine empirically by trial and error, unless you have accelerometers and other test gear around to measure things with (i don't, but trial and error works pretty well for this, particularly with a little experience). oddly enough the vinyl could be very good as well. with the rubber grommets it's important not to tighten the screws too much, you want things to stay squishy and not be so compressed that they become hard and stiff. you might even try cutting the grommets in half and using one or both halves. if it were more stable corrugated cardboard would work very nicely. > > also see > <http://www.sciplus.com/category.cfm?subsection=11&category=111> > > for some other materials that would work > > nicely. you want something "squishy" not springy, > > Thanks for the link, lotsa great stuff! Now if I > can just resist all those nice but totally useless > toys... ;^P yes, that's usually one of my problems.... though i'm creative enough i get some use from having assorted "junk" around, but the floor can only support so much and boxes only stack so high... the "mine field" warning tape is just so tempting... -- Why are republicans afraid of the U.N. observing our elections? Do U.S. citizens deserve less than those of other countries? <http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article6505.htm> In many states citizens still have the option of using a paper ballot, if they ask. I urge all voters to demand the right to vote on paper and create an auditable election. There is something fundamentally wrong when voting machines are designed to not provide any physical record of votes. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
