Your best course of action is to visit the drive compatability database
at 'accelerate your mac' and see what reports there are for the 108. You can
also check out reports for the other makes in the database.

Also there is an illustrated guide to replacing the optical drive.
Patchburn is necessary to enable the Apple programs like iTunes, iPhoto etc
etc to burn with the 108. Not sure about the Toast 5 - it will work but you
may have to upgrade to get the best from the 108.
The 108 is a straight replacement in a Sawtooth - five minutes or so to
swap out for the existing drive. I don't think the dual layer capability is
available yet....next year I heard.....may be wrong though. I have a new 107
and it's totally trouble free in a Sawtooth with 10.2.6 and Toast 6.05.
