I need to add more memory to my G4 mirror tower. I haven't a clue what to buy or where to get it. Would I get a good deal at an Apple Store?

No! Memory is one of the things Apple really gouges on.

My favorite memory dealer is Data Memory Systems <http://www.datamem.com> They're always right about the best price, and I've never had a problem with them; I've bought gigs of ram from them over the years and it's all good. Twice I've had problems, once our fault (ordered the wrong thing), once theirs (mis-labelled package...the Ram it said it was on the outside wasn't what it was on the inside.) Both times I got an RMA instantly, no hassles, and they sent the replacement ram out instantly, in one case, overnight.

OWC is good too. I upgraded the G4 at work with their memory (I was getting a CPU and CDRW upgrade from them at the same time). Good stuff, right price.
