sorry, catching up on over a weeks worth of mail, and not reading it all in sequence. glad to know the machine's ip is still easy to find in os x, and it should be easy to find the internet ip of the broadband connection easily with any decent router/firewall other than a simple hub (which is a really bad idea!).
