Russell I have a G3 Minitower and it was horribly slow, and the only thing I did first off was get a Sonnet card upped it to 800 mHZ and wow! What a difference. I shopped around a lot and finally got one (brand new in package) from ebay for $250 (including shipping) but now I've seen them on a lot of sites for $220. That has got to be the BEST upgrade I've done. I was using a 7500 Sonnet'd up to 400 mhz and it finally showed it's age and I got the MT for FREE! So for $250 was a great upgrade. I know $250 when you don't have it is a lot but to scrape the $$ together (or even for a Christmas present from pooled family members??) it's really GREAT. Easy to put in, no dip switches, just install the software and that's IT. 800 mhz! YAY!! Now that OWC has a sale on those DVR-106s, well Dear Hubby is getting me that also for Christmas, as the NEC 3500A won't let me boot from it ( sigh) and really need a bootable DVD to install OS X, right guys and gals? How can you tell from the cover if your Mac OS X v10.2.3 disk is a CD or DVD? Doesn't say it on it. It's the one with the furry Jaguar X.
