It's worth pointing out at this stage that I run repair permissions and DiskWarrior on a regular basis and before/after updates. Besides, you have to understand how these machines get used. The PCs are used for a limited number of tasks, e.g. building code, or testing developed applications. The Macs have a whole range of applications thrown at them. The iBook, for example, if often running PowerMail, Camino (general web browsing), Safari (for listening to the BBC radio streams), Circus Ponies Notebook, TextWrangler, AppleWorks and iCal at the same time.
