I had to get the new scsi driver for the hard drive. Also switched from the Apple CD to a generic (LG?) IDE CD drive. XPF wouldn't work before I did this and I never tried afterwards, the OS installed directly from the CD. I seem to remember that the SCSI driver was obtained from the Apple site but I had a bit of a hard time finding it. Good luck!
