For those that don't watch the swap list, I've decided my Frankenmac,
while doing a good job convincing me of the merits of OS X, is not

moving up to a dual G5 is the best way to spend my money at this

Has anyone had a chance to play with the new 1.7ghz upgrades from
either Sonnet or GigaDesigns? I'm particularly interested in Giga's
dual unit. How close to striking distance of a G5 DP box would I be if
I stuffed one of those in, along with a Radeon 9800? I'm looking at
approx $1100 to upgrade my box, vs $2500+ to get into a G5 2.0ghz DP
system. I'd love to think I could sell my box to help reduce the cost
of the G5, but I dunno how many people are intrested in a G4 in a
beige box. : )
