The old stuff has its place*, but it's pretty clear that the future, for Apple at least, is OS X.
* - but only in the history books. ;) OK, I'm just having fun; no, I'm not trying to start an OS war here. Seriously, I like System 6 and 7 for what they are - AMAZINGLY simple OSes that do incredible things on incredibly meager hardware - but I'm a Unix guy through & through. I have great respect for the authors of classic Mac OS - it's INCREDIBLE what they did with an OS that would run from a single 800k floppy! > Thanks for allowing such a silly questions, Just this once. ;) Eagle PS - happy new year, all. Thanks. I'll try to drop the subject, understanding this. I only started using Macs (computers at all) because audio left the analog realm, and only use 9 on my older machines. I have an LCIII that I got for a song that I plan to set up as an automatic photo frame, and plan to use a 7.6 setup as all it needs to run is JpegView. I'd consider that appropriate technology! I would not try to browse on it... And I am very happy getting my work done with X, just noty on older hardware... Lou -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
