I had to get a Griffin iMic (USB thing, costs like 35 dollars) for a
microphone to work in my G5 DP, but it seems to work with the cheapest
mics.

Hi all,
I have been a long time user of the Apple Plaintalk microphone, but it
won't fit in my Dual G5's port. Does the G5 have a built-in pre-amp,
or do I need to buy an expensive new mic? Any particularly good,
cheap mics out there? Can I use anything the PC world uses?
Looking for advice and recommendations, particularly in the <$50 range.
TIA,
