check out EyeTV 200.

http://www.elgato.com/

it might do what you want. (video to dvd xfers)

it has video inputs and you can do "gross" editing (nothing fancy) with it and burn to Toast.

plus you get a tv tuner and can record tv programs via www.titantv.com

it's kind of cool...!

I am also interested in the best low cost solution for this - but I also
work with a profesional filmmaker who makes DVDs with a $250 standalone
DVD recorder. They look great, and don't tie up the computer for simple
transfers. If you don't need to edit them this might be a good idea. If
you want to edit and customize them then all that's needed is the input
device... which I'd like to know about too!

Hello, I have a question, please. I am trying to figure out a way to do this and not sure, so I am asking.

I have an iBook G4/800/256/super drive combo.
I also have a Daewoo VCR/DVD player.
My goal would be to record my video tapes to DVD.

If I get iLife and iDVD, would I be able to conect the computer and the
VCR/DVD to do this? Is there something like an adapter for RCA to USB
or something like that? Any suggestions?

Thank you for your time,

Danielle S.
