Not for long, when $500 will get you a new 1.25GHz G4 mac with a fast bus (the thing has PC2700 memory)
The big thing this little Mac is going to do is flat out CRUSH SMASH DESTROY the used Mac market.
Powerbooks will stand up somewhat, but I expect older PowerMacs to plummet in value. Very top end G4 models may retain a larger fraction of value, but who in their right mind is going to pay $600-$900 for, say a GigE or Digital audio G4 now? Even a MDD model is a dubious proposition at that price; only if its a fast duallie.
Who in their right mind is going to be willing to pay more than $500 for one?
It will have to be tricked out to the max, come WITH a monitor and a bunch of software.
The LEM Swap list and E-bay will be a very interesting place in the next few months.
LCD G4 iMacs will hold some value, too, if only because they have that expensive LCD panel already.
This WILL cannibalize iMac sales, though. I'm thinking of getting one, and before I was sure I wanted a iMac G5 20".
But hey, don't listen to me; just last week I was saying Apple would never come out with a cheap headless Mac.
