I don't think so. Just set them up, then hide the Finder if they get in the way (or use Expose). FYI, you can set-up a diffault position for *one* window by doing the following: Start with a windowles Finder; cmd-N once to bring up a new window; drag and resize this window so that it (for example) occupies the top half of your screen; close this window. Every time you now open a new window it will start in that location and with that size, tiling towards the centre as you add more windows.
