A G5 to me is a tool to accomplish a job. Its beside my desk, next to my other tool. Something curvey and swooshy is just wasted glitz as the machine isn't on display.

Nice stuff to look at in your environment encourages pleasant feelings and hence productivity. When I was in the army, one thing that always depressed me was the functional drabness of military architecture, the same ugly box buildings everywhere and always painted the same ugly colors. The military attitude is that buildings are nothing but functional enclosures for people, after all, so why bother with beauty? But the fact is that if you make a building look nice inside and out and life becomes more pleasant for the occupants and their (at least my) attitude improves. The sexy curves of my G4 sitting beside me here make me feel better than the tin lunchbox of the G5, and when I feel better I do better.
