Sounds about right to me, as I remember it. Like I said, the publication in which I read this, called Aviation Safety, I think, simply reported that the pilot was "the founder of Apple" (or maybe "a founder of Apple"), so I thought it was Jobs --- end of quote --- I put the question to an aviation group I'm on and the consensus seems to be Woz. On this list it was supposed to be in a twin, a Cessna 210, a Piper Arrow and an ultralight. That's a pretty broad range of aircraft. Generally, a private pilot would need a "complex" endorsement from an instructor to fly a Cessna 210 if he had been flying ligbter, simpler planes. So maybe there's some truth in his being beyond his competency even if it wasn't a twin. I don't think a Piper Arrow requires that signoff. If I remember correctly, a plane needs to have above 180 hp, or retractable gear or a constant speed prop, or any combination thereof. You are supposed to get checked out in any new type of plane you fly anyway. Rich In any case, you are supposed to be checked out in a plane that is new to you. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
