There is another possible "gotcha" you should check out. Be sure the "OS 9 drivers" have been installed on your hard disk. If not, you will not be able to boot them (or even mount them) in OS 9. Select the drive in DiskUtility and click the Info button. If OS 9 drivers are not installed, you will probably have to reformat to add them. At least that's how I did it. :-(

So...I did so but there's nothing that indicates one way or the other whether these drivers are there. Does that mean they are not there? Which would mean another install, I guess?
