The 7/8/9x00 series was never called 'Beige'; that moniker is reserved for the first generation G3 systems (which used the same desktop case) called officially PowerMac G3, to differentiate it from the blue & white second gen G3 systems, also officially called PowerMac G3, and didn't come into use until the advent of the B&W.
