Wow! I knew you G3 Geniuses would help, but this is GREAT! Now you have me convinced that a G4 PCI is the way to go, and it will take my 800 Mhz upgrade card AND the RAM AND the drives!
Only problem is I got the MiniTower for FREE and want the same deal for the G4, am dreaming aren't I? Sigggghhhhhhh And I had forgotten about iCab, and immediately downloaded it. Wellllll my bank still protests (plus that orange face is sooo ugly). I'm downloading netscape 7 right now to see if that will make it happy. Anyway you all are just great and there just is not enough time in the day to chew on all the information you so happily share! Oh John yes I do have Mozilla, and my bank still moans and groans and looks funky. And Dana, you're making me want a B&W just for the price, they seem lower than the G4 PCI. And yep salsa the food not the dance is what i love! Even put it on pasta! Yummmers! And Jonathan, well I love poking around the inside of Macs but unfortunately the $$$ are not flowing my way, so the cheapest route to get to OSX but still be able to go to OS 9 is my final goal, for now at least. I got my Minitower for FREE so the closer to that amount of money spent is best. Chuck: I've tried everything from 10.0 to 10.2.6 and they all bomb. I think it has something to do with my configuration of my DVD drives and I imagine I've only covered half of the combination of jumpers but getting sick of farting around with that. And lastly, Eric, you have the machine I was thinking of, the B&W Rev 1 and sounds like you're pretty happy with that. Lots to think about for sure! I'm confused: what is the G4 PCI, is that Sawtooth or Yikes? It seems it is Yikes. Sawtooth is the AGP version, correct? Need the G4 that will take my Sonnet upgrade card, and that is the G4 PCI.
