Ah-Ha! You see! I knew the size limit wasn't 128GB, it was in the 130's! and yes, of course when you ~format~ a drive you have less available memory than what the label on the box says.
The difference isn't so much due to formatting but to the units used to describe hard drive sizes. The maximum size drive that ATA66 can support is 128 GiB or 137 GB. It's the same size, just expressed in different units. Disk drive manufacturers use the 'GB' units and most operating systems (Mac OS included) use the 'GiB' units (unfortunately, usually labeled as 'GB').
