Dear Listers:
For all of us who are running OS X, be it on an early G3 to the latest G5, we know how useful and powerful it is. Let's commit to trying to convince others on this list to convert over to it. I, for one, have two boxes with Jaguar sitting on a shelf collecting dust and one Panther (also collecting dust)....this is the result of purchasing new Macs that came with the current OS. Let's offer these un-used products to our less fortunate companions for little to nothing (this goes along with the lowendmac philosophy of 'cheaper is better'). This isn't asking too much! DEATH TO OS 9!
As a new convert, I must say, I wish I had done it sooner. OS X isn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be. I had a G3 iMac Indigo that I took to OS 9.2.2 and left it there for the last 3 years or so. I could have run OS X on it but was afraid to move up and have a problem with the sorftware, etc. I got my new iMac and love it!
I am certainly not a "power user" but I buy/sell on ebay, read email and yahoo groups, play a few games and generally have fun. It was very easy to change and figure it out...glad you have a few extra you can share...hopefully people will take you up on it and MOVE ON UP!
