I've seen comments against font antialiasing before. But what is it? Is it an automatic feature of OS X? Can you turn it on or off? I am using Apple's 17 inch flat panel LCD. Whether we use OS 9.2.2, Classic, or just plain OS X, text is always sharp and beautiful. Or maybe my eyes cannot tell the difference! Al Poulin -------------------------------------------------------------- Antialiasing is the process of smoothing out the edges of an image, in this case a font, through blurring. You can see some examples here <http://www.lunaloca.com/tutorials/antialiasing/>. On a CRT monitor the image is naturally blurred and little if any antialiasing is needed to make the fonts look smooth, however on a LCD the fonts will look blocky and pixilated with out it. The problem occurs when you have heavily antialiased fonts with a cheap or old CRT, the font then begins to look blurry or fuzzy. There is a way to turn it off in X (or through a freeware app) but I don't know how off the top of my head. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
