Create a folder(s) with aliases of what you want and place it in the dock. Ctrl-clicking the folder in the dock will revel it's structure. Agreed, the accidental; popping-up can be annoying. I keep mine hidden at the r/h side. What's 'unacceptable' about this to yuo?
I'm dyslexic, reading / parsing things that are presented vertically (like business signs) confuse me and make me feel ill. I don't even want to look at information that's not presented in a left to right format.
A new sign was put up across the street from a place I used to work, after several days of trying to puzzle out what the sign said I finally had to ask one of my co-workers to read it for me - it said "Motel" (It had been a motel for as long as I can remember). I still cannot read it.
BTW, in case you're wondering, my dyslexia is part of the reason it has taken me so long to respond to all the posts. I type VERY slowly because I am constantly having to fix my bad typing (I had to abandon one email program because it had no spell checker).
Expose (Panther). Kybd (Defaults: F11 - Desktop-only view; F9 - *all* windows in running apps made visible; all keyes reassignable) or Mouse (select Hot Spots in Prefs) accessible.
I have set opposite corners as 'hot spots', and my mouse wheel button set to "All Windows". I'm still experimenting with it.
> I want my stable STATIONARY Trash Can back. Used to be I could just > throw things AT the trash and hit it 99.9% of the time. Now I haveto pull up the dock and twiddle the mouse while the trash can dances around until I get what I'm trying to throw away EXACTLY on top of the trash. Otherwise I have to waste time removing things from the dock I meant to throw away, then go through the whole process again.
Increase magnification of the Dock. Mine's pretty big. Hard to 'miss'.
I'm not you. I'm terrible at sports, too. Plus there's the wait factor for the Dock to pop up.
