I had thought of that but I'm a little puzzleed as to how to handle it. The computer and monitors and a couple of peripherals are on an APC. The mixer and a bunch of audio/video equipment are on a different surge protected power strip. So the ground is probably not common. I'm concerned about adding too much additional stuff to the APC.
There is a ground stud on the mixer. If I wanted to ground it to the computer, I guess I could just run a lead from there to somewhere on the computer, I suppose the power supply, or where? Any suggestions would be very helpful. I think maybe an inexpensive usb audio i/o might be the neatest solution. Any suggestions for a good one for under $100? It needs to work in os 9 as well as X. One I saw seemed to be ok for that. Another wanted a built in usb port, not a card, though I've never noticed any peripheral where it really mattered. Maybe audio-in in usb 1 is pushing it, though.
