One lister noted the card could be a comm slot card and therefore wouldn't
work in my beige G3 - it was!
BUT - I have 2 pci ethernet cards - one is asante and the other is valor.
Which is better and will I need special drivers for them since they are not
apple?
To echo another lister: "What is wrong with the built-in ethernet?" You DO know you have it, right?
As for the cards, most likely the asante one will work though you may need to get drivers from asante.com.
The other may or may not work depending on the chipset. If it works, you put in the card and that ethernet port shows up in System profiler, you're set.
