In the 13 years of owning macs, the only instances that I have come across where the clock acts up related to a weak or dead battery.

Change the battery with a brand new one, set the time to the correct settings and go from there.

I heard about Firefox on this list and downloaded it. Haven't had any trouble so far, but still prefer Safari.

For some reason I don't know why, no matter how many times I set the clock the time is wrong. I used network time, but even though I chose my correct city, the time zone shows as being GMT, I am located in US Eastern time zone. I chose to stop using network time and adjusted the time myself HOWEVER as you can see, the time for my internet connection and my email shows that way too, I sent an email two hours ago and the computer said I sent it "tomorrow"!!!

The NTP Server is "Apple Americas/U.S. (time.apple.com)"
I know the battery of this G3 400 probably came dead, but before you suggest getting a new battery, could the problem be something else? I noticed all sorts of crazy things happen since I am running Firefox, like along with this there is a crash that makes my screen go blue and the "round in circles" animation at the bottom of the screen when you shut down appears, and stays for a few seconds, then logs me in (like if I had logged out and logged back in myself) everything in the open applications is lost and the computer comes back like it had just freshly been powered on.
