My i320 works fine with my dual G4, but it's slow as molasses.

I'm running the latest update to OSX. The basic issue is that getting the UMAX 1200S is more trouble than it's worth. It sort of worked nine months ago when I last needed it; now the OS doesn't see it on the PCI SCSI chain. It may very well be a cable issue that I have not yet had the time to t/s properly. I'm cludging together an 50 pin micro / centronics adapter to a centronics-to-25 pin cable, with a terminator on the other of the scanner's scsi ports.
