the start button on your machine until the computer shuts down.
Put your OS10 install disk in and reboot holding down c. Go to disk utility from the menu at the top of the screen.
When DU opens go to repair, select your hard drive.
Check/repair your drive for any problems and then repair permissions.
Reboot again the regular way, and repair the permissions again
from your machine's disk utility app. This should take care of it
unless there is something seriously wrong with your computer.
