Hi, All you great people on G list. This is to announce the birth of my

It is great, Previously used a G3/ 266 and plan on boosting memory of
my new one by scavenging the G/3/266 for memory sticks.
Would appreciate advice on how to start off correctly. Already plan on
partitioning the HD, going to 9.2 and getting Jaguar.
Advice sought, what is the best browser to use, e mail program etc.( I
have dial up), and any other tips.

Hey Richard
That's the "baby" I got for free last September which frustrated me
sooo much I went and got a Blue & White Yosemite, which I absolutely
LOVE. Anyway, I know some people have successfully used XPostFacto to
get OS X on your G3MT, and am hoping your machine will do better than
mine. It's a real DREAM on 9.2.2.
Yep the more memory you can get the better. But the most significant
thing you can get is an upgrade card (266 mhz really sux), when I had
my MT I got a Sonnet G4 800 mhz card which made it sooooo sweet. But no
matter what i did I could not get OS X on it. I'm sure you'll get lots
of great advice here (I sure did!).
So have fun with 9.2.2 (you may have to use OS 9 helper - I did) I left
9.2.2 kicking and screaming and still miss the raw speed of it, but my
bank's web site was absolutely heaving up spitballs whenever I tried to
access it so I pretty much was forced to go to X, or I certainly would
have stayed on 9.2.2 pretty much forever.
It's a nice solid machine, congrats Richard.
