I've encountered similar problems and often the issue is resolved by using
a different browser. Usually IE is the most forgiving, so I'm a bit
puzzled at your situation. Nevertheless, I'd recommend you try
Mozilla/FireFox and/or iCab and make sure your Java libraries are
up-to-date. If you're not familiar with iCab, it's small, fast, and highly
customizable though it suffers from the absence of CSS support. It has one
feature in particular that may shed light on your situation. If a Java
script keeps running for more than several seconds, it'll give you the
option to break the loop.
