Well, its extremely easy.  I used solder on mine for guaranteed strength, but 
technically if you twist the wires very well together you dont even need to 
do that.  You will need some wire of about the same guage since splicing the 
wires together shortens it a little.  And you will almost definitely need tape 
(unless you are using something to splice the wires together that keeps the 
bare wire shielded).  Here is the link:
