On my G4 Digital Audio, which has a 133 mhz bus and four internal drives on an ata 133 pci card, that Maxtor 200 benchmarks faster than the internals even though it is in a Firewire enclosure. I think it's because it has a large internal cache. I paid $100 for that drive at Staples a couple of months ago and thought I had done very well. Sure, buy it and use it what ever way you can. You can always upgrade with an ATA card or a firewire bus in good time. Get the 133 ATA card if you go that route (not a slower one) since you may upgrade the computer and the card will still be useful. Mine started its life in a Beige with a 66 mhz bus.
